Gas Saver Tips and Ideas

Submitted by v8 on Thursday June 18, 2009 No Comments

Gas is going to be expensive for a long time.  Sure it goes up and down in price, but in the long run it will stay expensive since the demand for oil is ever increasing and because most experts agree that the supply of oil will start decreasing and keep decreasing over time.  It’s basic economics; if supply goes down and demand goes up prices will always rise.

So what can you do to save money on gasoline for your car?  The best idea, in my opinion, is to buy gas saver cars.  They are making a lot of new gas savers, but if you don’t have a lot of cash and are having difficulty getting a lot of credit, a used high MPG car is a great way to go.

One super way to save gas in a car is to buy a hybrid car or what I like to call “Super gas savers“.  I have a Toyota Prius and I just love it.  At first it was a little weird to drive especially since it jerks a bit when it shifts from gas to electric.  It also took time to get used to the energy saving break system and was especially hard to keep steady on the freeway.  But after 6 months of use, I can say that I drive it as smoothly as any other car I have ever owned and I rarely ever think about it being a hybrid other than when I still notice that I haven’t filled up for a long time for the measly 10 gallons of gas it holds.

There are other gas saving devices you can buy for your existing car, of course.  Do some research on these to find out if other’s have had success with them before you buy however.
