Chronic smokers who have been smoking for more than 20 years are 70% susceptible to GERD compare to those non-smokers. The symptoms of people who already developed GERD are getting worse with each passing day.

Research also shows that large amounts of salt are equivalent to regular smokers in terms of risk in acquiring the said disease.

Once symptoms have been seen, it is advisable to submit the person in series of test for the acid reflux treatment. Treatment options are very widely available when it comes to acid reflux condition. Some management includes drugs such as antacid, modification of diet, elevation of the head when lying down, or the last resort will be surgery. Take enough precautions in your daily life to prevent acid reflux from becoming sever in you.
