Getting more traffic by leveraging Twitter for your company
The micro bloging platform Twitter has fashioned a small media storm recently with a army of celebrities discussing Twitter on their television shows , and Internet marketing gurus telling us we can use Twitter to build thousands of followers , the exposure to Twitter is pretty high. You almost certainly have friends and work colleagues on Twitter and your major suppliers have probably asked you to be their Twitter fan . And that last point is what I want to mention today . What are YOU doing about it for yourself?
Twitter doesn’t look like it will disappear any time soon. In the meantime some are jumping on the band wagon, while others sit in the sidelines bemused.
Despite what you think of Twitter for yourself, there are opportunities you should deploy and there’s a great FREE training video about that at http://www.TrafficHug.com/twittervideo/ but whatever you do, you should be doing something. The least you’re likely to achieve is a handful of great relationships , ideally with some way of people finding you by your keyword, or your name. I mean a few people are just going to wonder if your business (or you) are on Twitter and type in twitter dot com slash acme widgets. Now it will be embarrassing is a cyber squatter is sitting on your own name, so another good reason to make sure you secure your place in the Twit’o'sphere. (By the way things can be done about cyber squatters, just ask me.)
In other articles we talk about how to get noticed for your keyword and how to manage your account for targeted conversion (also covered well in that free video I mentioned earlier) but let’s do something we can do right now.
Most people think of Twitter traffic as being an internal affair . A concept most Twitter directories encourage . But , the advantages of having your existing traffic join you on Twitter are huge . So beneficial that we need to do something about it now .
A very quick solution is to add a Twitter “badge” to your existing web entities . A badge is just an image stating who you are on Twitter with a link to your Twitter page. In the videos I mentioned earlier , you’ll discover a lot more , but we’ll stick to just the badge for now .
WHERE CAN I GET MY BADGE ?
You can get your own customised Twitter badge without spending any money from the following website ;
http://www.TwitterDominator.com/followme_badges.php – Free Twitter badge .
You just paste the HTML it provides in to your page .
You can also paste the pure HTML in to most blog widgets. I’ve added one on all my blogs.
The Twitter badge is provided in its own HTML tags so should reside fine almost anywhere.
You can create an HTML table or div layer to house it, then you can just paste the code in in that place . With WYSIWYG html editors, there is usually an HTML “object” box you can place in the desired location and just place the code in to that. Adobe Dreamweaver users can just insert an AP Layer (from the insert menu) and then paste the code in to that using the HTML code view pane.
I think you’ll be surprised at the results a simple Twitter badge will bring you. Do it today and wait a few weeks and you should start to see some results.
