Muck Boot Hoser; Not Vintage But Classic

Submitted by v8 on Tuesday January 5, 2010 No Comments

When I was asked to review the Hoser Classic Work Boot from the Muck Boot Company, I was reluctant. I have worn and reviewed hundreds of different styles of boots and I just didn’t think there was any real substance here. In fact, I was told that this was the original hence the name “classic”.

After my Hoser boots arrived, I was immediately impressed at the quality of the boots. The way the sole and the upper were actually molded and blended together looked fantastic. The silky nylon upper was something different that’s designed to stretch and keep the boot closed at the top.

I had learned that Muck Boots had redesigned the Hoser into the new Chore work boot and modified the design a little, but since the boot had become so popular, people liked the old design and continue to purchase it even though it’s been enhanced. This is a strong customer following. Remember when Coke updated their formula to compete with Pepsi and the people revolted so they had to continue the old formula under the “classic” name? This isn’t quite the media buzz that Coke generated, but it is rather impressive.

After I walked around with my new boots on for about thirty minutes or so, I was relieved to find that there were no pressure points and no signs of impending blisters. I guess it’s because they are so flexible to begin with, there really is no break-in period for them. Well, I can certainly see how people would get accustomed to this particular line of Muck Boots, they are good. I don’t want to have to wear anything else.
