PS3 Sale Price
Have you ever tried to find a PS3 on sale? I guess that enough people are still buying them that you don’t see them on sale often. It can sometimes be frustrating if you’re on a tight budget.
I know how you feel! I’ve tried to justify the purchase in so many ways. To start building a PS3 fund I thought I would begin by selling my old PS2 games. I’ve thought about going through my closet and digging out my old jeans to see what they might fetch on eBay. I dug through the basement in the junk room looking for old board games and stuffed animals to auction off online. We even put our stuff in a neighborhood sale to come up with the funds to buy a PS3. It netted me $52. By the way, garage sales will not get you the most money! eBay is a much better way to go as you’ll net more profits.
In days gone by I felt the same way. When compared to other game systems the PS3 is far-and-away superior. A primary selling point for me is that it is Blu-Ray. Not only are all the games HD but now my movies are too. That’s a hard-sell to the wife! Once we went to HD with DirecTV, including the DVR, my wife was convinced and we hardly watch anything that is not in HD. In the end it wasn’t that difficult to get her on my side for the PS3 purchase except when it came to the price.
I’ve done my homework in this area and I simply haven’t been able to find a better value for the money than the PS3. Even when it’s not on sale! You’ll spend $200-250 bucks on a basic Blu-Ray player anyway. The new XBOX does play games in HD and movies as well but it uses the not-chosen HD DVD format. Still, the challenge is getting a PS3 at a discount if at all possible.
I searched on eBay and some other traditional auction sites and found that there really aren’t any PS3 Sale Prices out there. They make you spend much more than you would for just the console by throwing in all these games and accessories. It just doesn’t add up when I’m trying to save money, not spend more.
Ultimately, I had to think outside the box. I started investigating unique bid auction sites. You’ll find a few out there for sure but one stands above the rest, www.auctions4acause.com. They have much more selection among everyday items than most of the other sites including the PS3. Most other sites focus on really high-dollar items like cars, boats, houses and land. That’s fine and dandy but I just want the console!
After I found that site I know it was exactly what I needed. Two thumbs up as they had the exact item I wanted and I could get it for cheap. I quickly setup an account on the site. I placed 3 bids and hoped that they were unique and the lowest. I was only slightly discouraged when I didn’t win the first time. I had to wait until the next one came up for bid. I bid 3 or 4 more times, said my prayers and waited. Bingo! This time I had a winner. After a few days I was wrapping up the PS3 as a gift for my nephew. All told I had bid less than $59.64. Pretty darn good, huh?
It can take a few minutes of reading to truly grasp the concept of the lowest unique bid auction style. But once you get it, it can be addicting. Since that time that I won the PS3 I’ve bid on and won 3 other items including an iPod Nano (they have the best iPod Prices) and $400 gas card. I’ve won over $1,200 worth of stuff for about $350 in bid fees.
So don’t go searching at Best Buy or Circuit City or Walmart for the best prices on the things you want. You can surely get a great deal when you go register at Auctions4aCause.
