The Ups and Downs of Panasonic Rice Cookers

Submitted by v8 on Tuesday September 1, 2009 No Comments

I own a 3.3 cup rice cooker by Panasonic and I love it. It’s solid, has a good value, and many reviewers highly recommend it. I love its cool and simple design and other practical features. In general, Panasonic rice cookers get rave reviews from consumers. A friend uses a Panasonic rice cooker and says she loves it.

Below are what some online reviewers say (good and bad) about rice cookers by Panasonic. The Panasonic rice cooker line offers many model, and it’s impossible to list them all here due to space constraints. So I selected 5 units rice cookers by Panasonic and included them below.

Panasonic SR-NA18 Rice Cooker

From Agnes, 35, Homemaker: It got rave reviews from rice cooker experts, so I bought it. It’s a good rice cooker I must say. One of the good things is its automatic adjustments, perfect when making the best rice. It has a self-cleaning feature and a washable inner lid. I love how it fits with my countertop. However, I have some minor problems with it. Fitting a cauliflower head in it just won’t do. I also wish the steamer tray was deeper.

SR-G18FG Rice Cooker

From Sarah, 27, bank teller: Everything went smooth with this rice cooker for the first three months. I was thinking it was the perfect one. But the water started to spill from all the corners. This device makes the rice boil many times, not a good thing. It creates some pretty annoying mess on my countertop. Worse, I often make poor rice. It comes out crunchy. The spill over really kills me. I’ve followed all troubleshooting suggestions, to no avail.

Panasonic SR-NA10

From Mark, 29, manager: I’m very pleased with the performance of this cooker. My family and I are very picky about the rice we eat. And our rice cooker is doing a very good job. It makes great rice of any type. It also cleans up easily. The LCD display is another feature I like. It gives me an idea on how much time is left. I’m so loving it. This is the best rice cooker.

Panasonic SR-G10G

From Leslie, 55, government employee: The 5-cup size is ideal for 2-4 persons. It’s true what other people say about it. It makes the best rice. I have tried cooking white and brown rice with this cooker with good results. One important tip is to adjust the amount of water dependi

ng on the type of rice. Cleaning is so easy. But there are some minor flaws. The pot has a shallow lid and the cooker has dinky handles. Despite minor shortcomings, this rice cooker remains a good catch.

Panasonic SR-3NA

From Chelsea, 26, editorial assistant: My sister gave me this Panasonic cooker. It’s just enough for a single person like me. It looks good and makes great rice, too. This cooker is recommended for people who want to live a healthy lifestyle. This compact rice cooker suits my counter well. I’ve been using this cooker, one of the best Panasonic rice cookers out there, almost everyday for more than 2 months now. I have yet to encounter a problem with this rice cooker.
